Tum-Tum's Graduation

So far this weekend I have played with my cousins, hung out with grandparents, gone to auntie Karen's house warming party and Brady's birthday party, walked/rode/slept at a charity event for the American Cancer Society, and now I find myself sitting behind where homeplate would normally be at Safeco Field watching as auntie Autumn graduates from Seattle Pacific University. Busy busy! Even better is that this graduation has concessions!

I'm so proud of auntie Tum-Tum and hope that someday I graduate from college just like her!

Relay for Life

Tonight, I'm participating in the American Cancer Society sponsored Relay for Life. There are lots of people walking for 18 hours straight, and its a good time to reflect on those loved ones that have battled cancer.

Even if you can't walk with us, hopefully you can share some thoughts and memories.

I was going to pretend like I lost the blog or something, and that's why I haven't updated lately, but in reality, I was just looking for Papa's kitty cat. All excuses aside, we've been pretty busy lately, with trips to Montana, baseball games, bike rides and all the other standard summer fare, plus lots of other stuff. Luckily, some paparazzi type follows me around with 3, yes THREE cameras, so I tend to have pictures supporting my stories. I'll get more of them up in the next few days, but for now, some pictures from Memorial Day weekend and the days around that!

Here comes the WAVE! (not really)

On the Tuesday before Memorial Day weekend when we were heading to Montana, I went to school just like any other Tuesday. Apparently mid-day, Grandpa scored some sweet tix at work, so Daddy picked me up just a little bit early, and we trekked down south for some mid-week baseball. I was kind of confused because I knew we had tickets for Thursday night too - but I'm not gonna complain - I'm a sporty kid!

The night turned out to be pretty rainy, and the Mariners lost, but frankly, that doesn't diminish the fun much, cause I love my daddy, I love my grandpa, and I love baseball games. I even had a $5 Dollar Foot Long for dinner ( I hope Subway doesn't read this blog - no copyright infringement here!).

As part of our weekend plans, we had tickets for Thursday night's game too (my third of the year so far), so after getting the car all loaded up with 9 small bags (mommy and daddy don't understand using fewer, larger suitcases) we headed down to Safeco again for another great game! This time, instead of sitting real close, we sat on the Club Level, and since there wasn't a ton of people there, it was nice and relaxing to spread out!

After the Mariner Game, we drove down to Uncle Dale and Aunt Amy's house to stay the night before we got on the road. We didn't get there til late so Uncle Dale and Stephen were asleep, but that really didn't effect me too much considering I was asleep too. From what I understand, mommy and daddy stayed up with Aunt Amy and mommy's cousin Jordan for awhile, especially because Jordan the Marine (Ooh-rah!) was leaving for Hawaii early the next morning.

After playing with Stephen and learning how to say "Amy" the next morning, we decided to get on the road. We drove for quite awhile, but luckily I was able to sleep pretty well, and watch movies on my new DVD player in the car between naps, so we got to Post Falls, Idaho before I even realized it. Mimi and Papa caught up with us in the RV 5 or 6 hours later with Auntie Jess and the cousins, and after a good night sleep, we continued the journey to Big Fork, Montana.

Once we got to Big Fork, we met up with everyone that was there. It was fun to meet Uncle Jeff and Aunt Linda whom I had never met in person, and I always love seeing Uncle Dale and Aunt Amy, Gabby (Ga-ga) and Al (owl), Stephen (Ste-ste), and of course Mimi and Papa, Auntie Jess, and Emma and Eden. While most of us stayed at some cottages in town, we spent most of our time at Mimi and Papa's campsite, so it kind of felt like we were camping.

On Sunday morning, we all filled up the cars, and drove up to the big house that Mimi lived in when she was younger. This house was Great Grandma Nancy's dreamhouse, so we wanted to spend some time there to remember her. I never got to meet her (well, except from inside mommy's tummy), but I hear stories about her all the time, and she sounds amazing. I'm going to try REALLY hard not to ever forget going to visit her old house!

After spending some time in Big Fork (which is at the north end of BEAUTIFUL Flathead Lake), the plan was to head East towards Bozeman to spend some time remember Great-Granda Bob (whom I DID get to meet - he was very cool - he liked to paint, and to golf, and had tons of very funny stories) but I started not feeling very good the night before we were supposed to leave, so Mommy and Daddy decided to start the trek home instead. We packed up the car that morning, and began our journey home, although this time we did it in one day instead of stopping overnight. This trip was a little more tiresome, but when we got home, I definitely appreciated it!

Overall, the trip was a ton of fun, and I'm glad I got to see everyone, and spend some time thinking about some Great-Grandparents that I miss. On the bright side, we're heading to Fresno the first weekend of July, so we'll get to see some family again, but not everyone, and I'll miss them.

Well, that's about all for now. It's time for me to go sing my "A-C-C's" (ABC's) with mommy before bed. I'll work on posting some pics from other recent adventures soon, as well as some videos from my new video camera.
