Long Day!

Well, it's just about bedtime and boy am I exhausted from our busy day. It's not often that I pull the grandparent quintfecta with quality time spent with each of the five grandparents in the same day, but I managed it today!

I woke up at mimi and papa's, mimi made me breakfast, and I tried to help them get Garth Brooks tickets in Vegas for 2 hours! Then after some travel time, a stop at home, and a nap, I visited grandpa and bounced between helping him clean/making a mess in the backyard.

We then left baby sister with grandma and grandpa for a bit (I was very vocal about how much I missed her), and went to dinner and an outdoor marching arts performance with grammy, before returning to get callie and spend some time with grandma (it was 9pm and not an american idol night so grandpa was obviously asleep).

Needless to say, I'm tired so night night.

That Dog has Plaid Ears!

Hi everybooddddy! Happy October 20th, or as I call it, my 23rd Month Birthday! As always, gifts can be sent directly to me, cash and checks are always accepted, and please don't try to get away with planting a tree in my name or something! Just kidding - I love trees!

These apples are DELICIOUS!

The last two weeks or so have been jam packed full of good stuff, including Emma and Eden's Birthday Party part 1, the Pumpkin Patch, Emma and Eden's Birthday Party part 2, spending the night at Mimi and Papa's with the birthday girls, Auntie Tum-Tum and Uncle Will's Birthday Party (which doubled as a trip to Grandpa and Grandma's), and most recently, a few day trip to Ellensburg with Grammy and Auntie She-She to see daddy's Papa, as well as all kinds of cousins. It's been chaos!

On one fun Saturday, we decided to go to the pumpkin patch on the way to my cousin's birthday party, and while it was fun, I don't think mommy and daddy realized what they were in for. First of all, Callie kind of has to be carried at all times, which really limits one of them. Then add in the fact that I'm about the most active child ever known to man, and the fact that the expecation at a pumpkin patch is to, I don't know, GET PUMPKINS, and they were at a serious shortage of arms. That said, we had lots of fun, ate lots of apples, and were excited to move on the Emma and Eden's birthday party where we could rest a bit. Can you beleive they are 2 already?!

Hmm - this one looks good...

One trend that is becoming abundantly clear is that wherever I go, or whomever I play with, I tend to be, well, a little more excitable (read: goofy) than the others. I spent lots of time with Emma and Eden, and my 2nd cousins Reegan, Keanna, Jerreson, and McKenzee this weekend, and no matter the situation, I ran circles around them - LITERALLY! In news that is probably related, I also seem to have the appetite of a horse lately, so I'm probably growing. It's likely time to start on a 4,000 calorie per day diet of a pro athlete or something!

As much as I love to talk about myself, I know everyone is interested in how Callie is doing too, so, well, she's good. Seriously though, she's very cute, or "coot" as I pronounce it. She had a stretch where she cried quite a bit, ESPECIALLY on car rides, and even my best attempts at "night night baby" or "ok baby, ok" didn't calm her down, but she's doing better overall these days. The best part is that she does really well overnight, which is good so that mommy and daddy have more of their sleep deprived overnight time to focus on me when I climb out of bed and come visit!

Do skeletons like cheese?

She just won't cooperate!

Everybody loves a parfait!

Happy Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

After a couple of weekends in a row where it seemed like we were constantly on the run, we finally had a nice stretch of hometime this week, so I guess I can devote at least a small portion of that towards this mighty communicative tool.

More Callie - she gets so much attention!

Most of the pictures I have for this update are from last week. Mommy's cousin Meghann is in town (figuratively, as the town she is visiting is actually still an hour and a half from MY town) from Virginia, so it was a must that we get down to see her and cousin Scarlett, along with everyone else. Since mommy and daddy are wimps (or maybe it was another reason, who knows) we drove down to Seattle on Friday afternoon to spend the night with Grammy before continuing to the Valley that is Maple.

Papa and Mimi brought their RV down too, complete with Uncle Josh, Auntie Jess, Emma, and Eden as accessories. The 24 hours or so that we were there were pretty chaotic but SUPER fun! I really wish that Scarlett lived closer to us, cause I can tell we'd really get along well.
After watching some early morning football, we decided to start working our way home, especially since Callie caught her first cold. Mommy had the same affliction, so our humble abode sounded like the best cure. We stopped at Grammy's again on the way home to watch the Seahawks game, get some lunch, and chase the cats around a bit, and then home it was!

Other than that adventure, life is pretty much progressing as usual. I've had plenty of chances to see all my grandparents, including visits to both Grandpa and Grandma's house and Mimi and Papa's house this week. Mommy and daddy keep telling each other that I'm not a baby anymore, and that I'm such a kid - well, sorry but duh! It's probably because I've figured out enough new words to pretty much communicate whatever I'm thinking, even if it's just to tell a story.

In sad news, I did get a little scared of the shadows on the wall at bedtime last night, but luckily daddy was there to turn on the lights and show me that everything was ok. I also got really excited for a Quesadilla today, and even though I've been told "it's hot" about 3.14159 billion times, I decided to give it a grab while daddy wasn't looking, and that didn't turn out so well. No worries though, no lasting damage, just some tears and a newfound reason for me to say "s'hot" everytime I go near the kitchen.
There is a Handy Manny Sunday night special on Disney HD tonight, so mommy is currently putting out a blanky and some snacks for me, so time to wrap this up. Hope to see everyone soon!
