A Blog a Day Keeps the Dr. Away...

I guess the title is a bit misleading, considering that I don't actually create these magical literary masterpieces everyday, but I sure try my best, cause as soon as a few days go by, I start to hear the grumblings of "I love the blog - when is there gonna be a new one?!". Soooo, here we go.

This is my new face, usually accompanied by a "gooooooooo" sound.

I LOVE Cell Phones and Remote Controls!

Last weekend was pretty busy for me and the 'rents, so I'll try to fill ya in. On Friday evening, mommy and daddy took me straight from school down to Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was Auntie Maeggie's Eight Grade Graduation, so we were there to celebrate with her. This was my first graduation, and while I love Auntie Maeggie, I'm not a fan of hot, over-crowded gymnasiums with an announcer droning through 400 names. I decided to mess the pants so I could get out a bit early. SUCCESS!

I wanted to wear PJ Pajamas and Froggy socks, but mommy said no.

Bulldozers in Grandma and Grandpa's yard!

Watching TV with Grandma Lynnette.

Hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa's was a lot of fun, especially cause they have a bunch of bulldozers in their yard! Grandpa is putting in a shop, so the bulldozers are moving the dirt around and stuff. I didn't really listen to the details - I just wanted a ride!

I wanna eat the fish!

Car Show!

Do I get to ride that someday?

My Grandpa works pretty hard to organize a car show each year, so that's what we got to do on Saturday. Their were lots of really brightly colored cars, and grandpa thinks they are interesting, so I do too! What kind of grandson would I be if I didn't drop a shameless plug? You can check out more about it at http://mcahotrodsandhogs.com/. After the car show, Daddy decided to make dinner for Grandpa and everyone else for Father's Day. You know what that means - we had to find the local Costco!

A grill never looked so good...I can't wait to grow up!

Sleeping in with daddy on Father's day

Trying to whistle.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, mommy and I took daddy out to breakfast for daddy's day. We drove up to the Semiahmoo Resort to have breakfast in a restaurant overlooking the water, and then we got to enjoy the nice weather outside for a bit. Afterwards, we came home and took a nap/watched the US Open (more on that later), and then headed to Mimi and Papa's for another Father's Day dinner. I had some sweet potatoes and bananas, and the big people had bacon wrapped shrimp, filet mignon, stuffed baked potatoes, and all kinds of other stuff that makes me want to grow up QUICK!

What's for breakfast?!

Me and daddy at Semiahmoo

I'm gonna eat the monkey sock - I promise!

Got it!

Some people break the backboard - I bring down the whole thing!

Outside of the weekend, nothing incredibly new is going on, outside of the fact that I'm growing like a weed. I spend most of my time trying desperately to crawl, walk, and talk to mommy and daddy. I'm getting pretty good at eating dry cereal without gagging, and I can fit daddy's whole cell phone into my mouth!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Meeting with the braintrust.

I think we should ALL wear monkey socks!

Right now, mommy and daddy are doing a lot of planning for upcoming travel events. Next weekend we are going to a family reunion for Papa's family, and the following weekend I get to go see Mickey Mouse at Disneyland! I'm kinda sad, cause daddy has to go to San Francisco the week after that for work, but it's ok, cause not too long after that, we get to go to Hawaii with the WHOLE family! I'm very excited!

Papa came to visit - I decided it was nap time.

How big? SOOOO Big!

I can eat it if I want to!

Well, it's about that time for me to start my pre-bed routine (watch Jeopardy, cuddle with mommy, take a bath/eat, read a story). As always, I miss all of you, and hope to get to see everyone soon. Goodnight!

O Daddy! My Daddy!

Good Morning Mr. Blog-a-saurus, I know my Daddy usually types my words for me, but today is Daddy's Day so I couldn't let him type my Happy Father's Day message! Enter Mommy. Now, don't get me wrong, Mommy doesn't have full privileges. She just gets to type out this message and then the keyboard must be relinquished back to Daddy, because this blog is kinda "our" thing. Sorry Mommy.

Earlier this week I woke Mommy up to let her know that I needed her to come out to the living room and take a picture of me as part of my Father's Day present for Daddy. When she came out there she saw this...

I spelled this out with my toys, because hard as I try, I still can't talk. Mommy took a picture, but told me I better get in there so Daddy knew who it was from. Duh Mom! I crawled inside the heart, (pretty symbolic, don't you think?) Mommy got up on the couch with the camera and we got the photo shoot started.

Now a baby can only be patient for so long when surrounded by all his favorite toys. It started with just one little book..

and then a baseball teether...

and finally, I just went for it!

Woohoo!

Mommy took the best picture of the shoot down to Costco for me, had it printed in 11x14 (the bigger the better, I told her) and framed it for Daddy to display proudly on his desk at work. Now this isn't all I had planned for Daddy...This morning, we're going North to the Semiahmoo Resort to have brunch, play on the beach and maybe watch a little bit of history as Uncle Tiger annihilates the competition at the close of the 2008 US Open.

Now that's what I call scary intensity. Go Uncle Tiger!
.
This afternoon we're heading out to Mimi and Papa's house for Father's Day dinner, Mommy says Papa is her Daddy. Mommy has a Daddy too? Wow! There are a lot of Daddy's out there. Just yesterday Daddy told me that Grandpa K.C. is his Daddy. It's all very confusing for me as I thought I was the only one lucky enough to have a Daddy. Well, Happy Father's Day to Grandpa K.C. and Papa then too and thanks for doing such a good job making my Daddy and Mommy who they are today.

I just want to finish by saying, Daddy, you're the bestest Daddy this little mini-you could ask for. I love you more than all the puppies, toys, sweet totatoes, binkies, blankies, dinosaur jammies, cell phones, funny faces, jumperoos, apple juice popsicles, exersaucers, bottles, bananas and froggy socks in the whole world. And even though you don't believe it, I do love you just as much as I love Mommy! It makes me smile my biggest smile everytime I even hear the word Daddy... It's been a great first 6 months with you Dad and I can't wait for all the super-fun adventures we have to come.

I love you Daddy, Happy Father's Day.

Five Med-i-cines....and a partridge in a pear tree

Well let us see here.... it's been eleven days since my last update, and 3 pictures per day seems appropriate, so that means 33 pictures! Bandwidth be darned!

A little Sweet Potato Picnic

Telling Mommy I love her (while Daddy golfs in the background)

Me and silly Auntie Maeggie

So as I write this, my Pittsburgh Penguins just won Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals by scoring about halfway through the 3rd Overtime. I'm happy for my Penguins, but based on daddy's reaction, I don't think he is very happy at all. Perhaps the fact that he sleeps with a Red Wing blankie (or a dinosaur blankie - that's payback for the bath pictures!) explains where his loyalties lie in this series. I think I'll make a bet with him on who wins Game 6. The loser will have to do the winner's chores.

I -- Love -- Rock and Roll!

That's what fire is?

Mommy telling me not to eat my blanky

Well, where do I start with my last 10 days? Two weekends ago I went down to see Grandma and Grandpa. We got to hang out outside a lot, go for a walk, and even have a bonfire in the backyard. I had super duper amounts of fun, but when I got there, mommy and daddy noticed I had a rash on my back. After consulting with a Dr. via the telephone, it was determined that I was having a reaction to the anti-biotic for my ear infection. I got to have some benadryl (which I promptly spilled all over grandma and grandpa's carpet) and that helped for the rest of the weekend.

He shoots, he scores!

Having a smiley good dream!

More basketball - the "All-Star" shirt says it all.

Popsicle!

I went back to see Dr. Bischoff on Monday, and Hot Dog!, she put me on quite the regimen of medicines. For the last week, I've had to take one medicine for thrush, another for my ear infection, and another really bad tasting one and two inhalers for my congestion in my chest. Talking medicine every few hours does get kinda old, although most of it doesn't taste too bad at all. One of them tastes horribly horrible, but luckily I only had to take that one for 3 days. I also got a Popsicle before I took it to make my mouth cold!

Nothing weird here, just chewing on a duck head.

Do I have something in my teeth?

No ducks here!

Reading stories with mommy!

I'm starting to feel better now and I'm really getting big, if I do say so myself. I eat lots of real foods now (although I gag horrendously everytime a cheerio gets near my tongue) and I'm trying really hard to crawl. Today, I got myself up on my hands and feet like a bear. Roarr!

Playing with balloons at Brady's B-Day.

Do I get cake mommy?

Patiently watching Brady open presents

Oh! Is this a present?!

On Friday, I went to my friend Brady's house for his birthday. He is turning 1 year old this week and he's pretty awesome. Our daddy's always say that we are going to be a 2-man bobsled team. We haven't had practice for a while, but I got him a skateboard, so maybe we can work with that - Bellingham is pretty hilly. I don't think it's all that funny, but mommy and daddy wouldn't stop pointing out that I'm nearly the same size as Brady even though I'm 6 months younger. Is it weird that a 6 month old is wearing 18 month shorts? nah...

String!

Mmmmm....hand!

Me and my super-fab daddy

I like eating puppys

Spring cleaning

This weekend was a good amount of fun. On Saturday, mommy and daddy took me to Costco, Home Depot and Target. Sitting in the cart at Costco is one of my new favorite activities, and I decided that I REALLY wanted a bite of daddy's pizza while he wasn't looking. He told me not to touch it when he refilled his drink, but I did my best to dive out of the cart for it. No dice though.

Watching the Mighty Red Wings....oh wait, I like the Penguins

Shirt on my head and sweet pectorals

My cousin Daisy - she's a dog.

Grammy apparently thinks I'm a baby or something
On Sunday, I got to see Mimi and Papa, and Auntie Shanlee and Grammy, all at my house. Auntie Shanlee brought her furry puppy doggy Daisy who is very cute. I tried really hard to pet her but she's pretty evasive.
Take that Moose!

Too many blown saves! Fix that!

Look at me - I climbed onto my knees!
Well, as per the usual, I'm blogging pretty late in the evening so I should get to bed. I want to give a shout-out to all my family out there. I don't get to see any of you as much as I want to, but I love you all very much! Goodnight!
